DESIGN
As an appropriate urban design response to this context, the building is design to integrate the dwellings in one continuous form instead of a conventional, segmented townhouse appearance. Exterior design elements and finishes palette is chosen to address the emerging new character of the area. A contemporary design outcome that creates the ‘first impression’ which the young buyer demographic desires.
The project offers a good variety of townhouses with a mix of 3 & 4 bedrooms over 2 & 3 storeys. All except one have conventional living layouts with main living spaces on ground level, outdoor courtyards and bedrooms & retreat on upper levels. Each dwelling has 2 car spaces in the basement and private stairs for internal access.
Outdoor courtyards are landscaped with a combination of hardy plants, small canopy trees and a large decked area. Although not generously sized, good design makes these courtyards meaningful, practical and a good place for recreation and entertainment.
